Expert Spotlight: Nicole Caneo
We’re excited to introduce our next Expert Spotlight:
Nicole Caneo, the new creative force behind unforgettable events at A2E.
We’ve always taken pride in being more than a typical events agency—we’ve labeled ourselves as a collective of innovative minds, problem-solvers, and passionate creators. In this employee spotlight, we shine the light on Nicole, an event professional with the ability to bring people together and curate extraordinary experiences.
Nicole started in marketing but quickly discovered that event planning was where she felt most aligned with her true passion. With a talent for storytelling and the ability to bring an event to life, she’s built a career crafting experiences that leave lasting impressions on attendees. Whether it’s puppy yoga, a killer awards gala, or bespoke sunglass activation, she thrives on the details that make events extraordinary.
We sat down with Nicole to talk about her journey in the industry, what she believes it takes to be a standout event planner, and why she loves being part of the A2E team.
1. How did you get started in Events?
I started working in events because I love bringing people together and creating meaningful moments. Although my career began in marketing, I quickly realized that the projects I enjoyed most were always event related.
“It’s like being part storyteller, part magician”
There’s something so satisfying about taking an idea and turning it into an experience that people will talk about long after it’s over. It’s like being part storyteller, part magician.
2. What do you think it takes to be successful in the events industry?
Success in the events industry comes down to adaptability, creativity, and laser-sharp attention to detail. You need to be capable of thinking on your feet when things don’t go as planned. But the key is keeping calm under pressure. Building strong relationships is also crucial – it’s a collaborative industry where connections with clients, vendors, and teams can make or break an event. Above all, it’s about having a passion for creating unforgettable experiences. When you love what you do, it shows – and that’s what will take you far in this field.
3. How do you kick off event planning with your clients? What is the single most important thing you can do?
I always start by listening. The single most important thing is understanding their “why.” Once you know the purpose and vision behind the event, every decision you make becomes more intentional and aligned.
“The single most important thing is understanding their “why.”
4. What’s your favorite event that you’ve been a part of and why?
It’s hard to pick just one, but I’d say it’s a tie between the last two events I worked on at A2E. Both were all about bringing teams together, creating meaningful connections, and delivering unique in-person experiences. One event included puppy yoga with an adoption component, which was not only adorable but also impactful, while the other featured sunglass activations where attendees could choose their own pair of designer shades—such a fun and memorable touch. These interactive elements truly resonated with attendees and created moments they’ll never forget, which is what makes those events stand out for me.
5. In your opinion, what makes someone a good planner vs. a great one?
A good planner gets the job done, but a great one anticipates needs, builds relationships, and goes the extra mile to create unforgettable experiences. A great planner isn’t just reactive—they’re proactive. They think three steps ahead to ensure every detail exceeds exceptions.
“A good planner gets the job done, but a great one anticipates needs.”
6. Why do you think people consider A2E for their events?
At A2E, we don’t just check boxes—we become an extension of our clients’ teams. Every event we create is tailored to their vision, goals, and brand. We’re all about personalization, creativity, and excellence, and we pour 110% into every detail. Our clients know they can trust us to deliver stress-free, seamless experiences that leave lasting impressions. That level of care and commitment is why they keep coming back to A2E.
7. What advice you would give to someone looking to start a career in events?
Get involved in any way you can—volunteer, shadow, or start planning smaller events in your current role. The best way to learn is by doing, and every event teaches you something new.
“If you find yourself thriving in the chaos and loving the process, you’ve found your calling.”
Be ready for high-pressure moments and unexpected challenges, but if you find yourself thriving in the chaos and loving the process, you’ve found your calling.
8. What’s your favorite part about working with A2E?
The team, hands down. We work hard but have fun doing it, and everyone brings something special to the table. Whether we’re brainstorming over a Zoom call or executing an event onsite, there’s this amazing synergy that makes every project feel exciting and rewarding.
